1 min read

UNITY — Jesse J. Harvey, 31, of Unity, was sentenced Thursday to serve 10 years in jail after pleading guilty to one count of Gross Sexual Assault, a Class A crime.

Harvey entered his guilty plea in December 2024 and received his sentence on March 20.

Following his incarceration, Harvey will be subject to 10 years of supervised release.

The conviction stems from an investigation by Somerset County Sheriff’s Office Detective Jeremy Leal into allegations that Harvey had a sexual relationship with a 12-year-old child between August 1 and December 1, 2020.

As a result of his conviction, Harvey is now required to register as a lifetime registrant on Maine’s Sex Offender Registry.

If Harvey violates any conditions of his supervised release, he could face an additional 10 years in jail.
