BOSTON — Two suspects were arrested Monday after a stabbing in the Mattapan neighborhood that left one man with multiple wounds, police said.
Officers responded to a report of a stabbing at about 4:54 p.m. near 1603 Blue Hill Avenue, according to the Boston Police Department.
Upon arrival, officers found blood on the sidewalk extending along Fairway Street toward Cummins Highway.
Police located an adult male victim suffering from multiple stab wounds in the area of 886 Cummins Highway.
The victim was transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Detectives reviewed surveillance footage and distributed photographs of potential suspects.
An officer assigned to the Mattapan Square walking beat identified the suspects, and police began searching the area.
Maurice Payne, 36, of Mattapan, was arrested near 500 River Street and charged with assault and battery with a dangerous weapon.
Later that evening, at about 10:45 p.m., detectives conducting surveillance on Bismark Street arrested the second suspect, Cassie Weeks, 61, of Hyde Park.
Weeks was also charged with assault and battery with a dangerous weapon.
Both suspects are expected to be arraigned in Dorchester District Court.
