RUTLAND TOWN — Vermont State Police arrested a 23-year-old Rutland Town man Monday night on charges of first-degree aggravated domestic assault and unlawful restraint.
Troopers responded to a residence on U.S. Route 4 East in Rutland Town at 7:52 p.m. following a report of an assault.
Investigation revealed that Jamir Fitzgerald committed the alleged crimes against a household or family member, according to police.
Fitzgerald was arrested without incident and transported to the Rutland Barracks for processing.
He was later lodged at Marble Valley Correctional Facility and held without bail.
Fitzgerald was issued court-ordered conditions of release and a citation to appear in Vermont Superior Court Rutland Criminal Division on April 1 at 12:30 p.m.
The Vermont State Police did not release the name of the victim, in accordance with their policy regarding victims of domestic violence.
