Police investigate shots fired at Norwalk ballfields

NORWALK — Norwalk police are investigating after reports of shots fired near Honey Hill Road baseball fields Thursday night.

Officers responded to the Midrocks Drive area around 9 p.m. March 27 after multiple callers reported hearing five gunshots near the ballfields.

Police located several shell casings in the Honeyhill Ballfields parking lot.

The detective bureau took over the investigation and determined the casings were blanks.

Authorities say there is no reason to believe the public is in danger, though the incident remains under investigation.
