Ogdensburg man arrested after police seize drugs in apartment raid

OGDENSBURG — Members of the Ogdensburg Police Department executed a search warrant at 218 West South Street, Apartment #2, on Monday, leading to the seizure of multiple drugs and the arrest of a local resident.

The search conducted on March 31 resulted in the discovery of 4 ounces of cocaine, 2.1 ounces of crystal methamphetamine, 2.9 ounces of fentanyl, 2 grams of crack cocaine and a switchblade knife, according to police.

Anthony LaRose, 42, of the same address, was arrested following the search.

LaRose faces multiple charges including two counts of criminal possession of controlled substance in the second degree, a class A2 felony; criminal possession of controlled substance in the third degree, a class B felony; criminal possession of controlled substance in the seventh degree, a class A misdemeanor; and criminal possession of a weapon in the third degree, a class D felony.

The suspect was arraigned at Ogdensburg City Court on March 31 at 3 p.m. and is currently being held at the St. Lawrence County Correctional Facility.
