UNDERHILL — A Hyde Park man faces charges after police say he was caught driving at nearly twice the posted speed limit on Route 15 Tuesday morning.
At approximately 9:36 a.m., a Vermont State Police trooper conducting speed enforcement in Underhill observed a vehicle traveling west on Route 15 and passing multiple vehicles with blind corners ahead.
The trooper’s radar confirmed the vehicle was traveling at 92 mph in a 50 mph zone, according to police.
After conducting a traffic stop, the driver was identified as Garret Brigati, 24, of Hyde Park.
Brigati was issued a citation to appear in Chittenden County Superior Court, Criminal Division to answer charges of negligent operation and excessive speed.
He was also issued a Vermont Civil Violation Complaint for violating Title 23 VSA Section 1081(b), which carries a penalty of 2 points on his license and a $627 fine.
