Missing man sought after car found at wildlife park Groton

GROTON — Police are seeking the public’s help in locating a missing man whose vehicle and cell phone were found at a local wildlife park.

Steven Joseph Gush, 38, was last seen by family members in Ledyard at approximately 3 p.m. on March 29.

Gush’s vehicle and cell phone were discovered at Candlewood Hill Wildlife Park on Gold Star Highway (Route 184), between Candlewood Road and Rogers Road.

Groton Police conducted an extensive search of the park using drones from both Groton and New London Police Departments.

K9 units from Groton and Connecticut State Police, along with numerous officers on foot, also participated in the search operation.

Gush is described as a white male, 6’02”, 230 pounds, with a thick black beard, black hair, brown eyes, and tattoos on his legs and one arm.
