MCDONOUGH — The Chenango County Sheriff’s Office arrested a McDonough resident on multiple charges following a domestic dispute on March 29.
Frederick A. Clarkson, 58, was charged with second-degree strangulation, fourth-degree criminal mischief, third-degree assault, and second-degree menacing.
Deputies responded to a domestic dispute call in McDonough where Clarkson allegedly caused physical injury to a victim, menaced them with a blunt object, strangled them, and took their phone to prevent them from calling 911.
Clarkson fled the scene before deputies arrived but was later located in Norwich and taken into custody without incident.
The Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Norwich Police Department during the arrest.
Clarkson was arraigned in CAP Court and remanded to the Chenango County Correctional Facility without bail.
