COLCHESTER — A New York man was arrested in Colchester after police discovered he was driving with 16 license suspensions.
Benjamin Babcock of Hancock, NY was arrested on March 21 and charged with Aggravated Unlicensed Operator 1st degree, a Class E Felony.
A Colchester police officer initiated a traffic stop on State Highway 206 after noticing Babcock’s pickup truck did not have a front New York license plate.
During the stop, the officer determined that Babcock’s New York driving privileges had been suspended 16 times on 11 separate dates.
In addition to the felony charge, Babcock received traffic tickets for no front license plate and operating without a license.
Babcock was released and is scheduled to appear in the Town of Colchester Court at a later date.
