Multiple arrests made in overnight police operations across Providence area

PROVIDENCE — Troopers arrested Josue Bautista, 26, of Cranston, at 11:25 p.m. on an active warrant for leaving the scene of a motor vehicle accident resulting in bodily injury.

The arrest occurred during a motor vehicle stop on Route 10 in Providence.

Bautista was processed at the Lincoln Woods Barracks and transferred to the Johnston Police Department.

At 12:20 a.m., Edison Colon Torres, 39, of Pawtucket, was arrested for forgery and counterfeiting of registration plates and driving with a suspended license, fourth or subsequent offense.

Torres was apprehended during a motor vehicle stop on Sorrento Street in Providence and held pending morning arraignment.

Cotey Vasconcellos, 30, of North Providence, was arrested at 12:51 a.m. for driving after denial/revocation/suspension, third or subsequent offense.

The arrest followed an investigation with North Providence Police locating Vasconcellos, who was held pending morning arraignment.

At 1:15 a.m., troopers arrested Jose Nunez Cruz, 45, of Pawtucket, for larceny over $1,500 and driving without the owner’s consent.

Cruz was located by Providence Police and held at Lincoln Woods Barracks pending arraignment.

James Dent Jr., 47, of Pawtucket, was arrested at 3:50 a.m. for second-offense DUI and second-offense refusal to submit to a chemical test.

Dent was stopped on Cedar Street in Pawtucket, arraigned by a Justice of the Peace, and released to a responsible adult.
