WILLIAMSTOWN — A Newbury woman was arrested Friday after allegedly driving under the influence and crashing her vehicle on Robar Road.

Vermont State Police troopers from the Berlin Barracks responded to a reported crash at approximately 6:29 p.m. on March 28.

Upon arrival, troopers observed signs of impairment in the operator, identified as Valerie L. Tofani, 56.

Investigators determined Tofani had operated a motor vehicle on a public roadway before striking and damaging property.

Troopers found probable cause to charge Tofani with DUI and negligent operation.

She was arrested without incident, processed at the Berlin Barracks, and later released with a citation to appear in court.
