WARWICK — Rhode Island State Police arrested two men in separate incidents Monday in Warwick, including one facing charges for unauthorized dissemination of indecent material.
At 12:01 p.m., troopers arrested Joseph McCain, 31, of West Warwick, after checking on a disabled vehicle on Route 95 south.
McCain was wanted on a Third Division District Court bench warrant for failure to appear for arraignment on a charge of driving without a license, which originated from the Warwick Police Department.
He also faced an arrest warrant for unauthorized dissemination of indecent material from the Cumberland Police Department.
McCain was processed at the Wickford Barracks and turned over to Cumberland police.
In a separate incident at 12:40 a.m., troopers arrested Virtue Matthews, 50, of Brooklyn, New York, for possession of a Schedule I-V controlled substance (psilocybin edibles).
Matthews was stopped on Route 95 in Warwick, processed at the Wickford Barracks, arraigned before a justice of the peace and released pending a future court date in Third Division District Court.
