ROSCOE — Human remains discovered near a stream off County Route 92 in Roscoe have been identified as those of a local man who had been reported missing last year, authorities said Monday.
State Police identified the severely decomposed remains as Moses Baptiste, 43, of Roscoe, using fingerprint analysis.
The remains were found March 17 adjacent to a stream in the Sullivan County town.
Investigators determined that the circumstances of Baptiste’s death were consistent with suicide.
Family members had reported Baptiste missing in September 2024, according to police.
