NORTH BRANFORD — A man suffered life-threatening injuries when his vehicle crashed into the North Branford Town Hall early Friday morning, police said.
The collision occurred at 1:46 a.m. at 909 Foxon Road, seconds after police received a 911 call reporting an accident at the nearby intersection of Foxon Road (Route 80) and Forest Road (Route 22).
North Branford Fire Department volunteers responded to extricate the driver, who was the sole occupant of the vehicle.
The injured man, whose identity has not been released, was transported to Yale New Haven Hospital.
Preliminary assessments indicate the town hall building sustained minor structural damage but remains open with all services fully operational.
The crash is under investigation by the North Branford Police Department in collaboration with the South Central Regional Accident Reconstruction Team.
