SOUTHINGTON — A 33-year-old Ansonia man was arrested after leading Southington police on a chase that ended in a parking lot in Wolcott on March 26.

Harrison Regan was taken into custody after officers successfully deployed stop sticks to slow his vehicle during the pursuit.

The incident began at approximately 11:37 p.m. when a Southington police officer attempted to stop a white Acura sedan on Queen Street for misused registration plates.

The vehicle failed to stop, and officers later received a Flock camera notification that the car was traveling southbound in the area of Marion Avenue.

Officers located the vehicle and deployed stop sticks as it drove west on Meriden Waterbury Turnpike, but the Acura continued to flee toward Wolcott.

Police later found the vehicle parked in a Wolcott parking lot, but it fled again when officers approached, causing damage to both a police cruiser and the suspect vehicle.

The Acura moved to an adjacent parking lot where an unknown passenger jumped out and fled on foot.

Officers were able to stop the vehicle in the parking lot and remove Regan, the driver.

Attempts to locate the passenger were unsuccessful.

Regan was charged with interfering with an officer, reckless endangerment, first-degree criminal mischief, misuse of plates, improper tires, engaging police in pursuit, operating without insurance, operating an unregistered vehicle, reckless driving, improper window tints, and operating without a license.

He was held on a $100,000 bond.
