Rhode Island police make multiple arrests in single-day operation

PROVIDENCE — Rhode Island law enforcement agencies arrested four individuals on March 26 on charges ranging from child pornography possession to domestic violence violations.

Members of the ACI Investigations Unit arrested Rene Martel, 48, of Woonsocket, on a warrant for violation of community supervision.

Martel was arraigned in Third Division Court, presented as a Superior Court violator and granted $1,000 surety bail.

The Rhode Island Violent Fugitive Task Force and the Computer Crimes Unit/Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force arrested Joel Caballero, 33, of Cranston, for possession of child pornography.

Caballero was arraigned by Judge O’Neill in Kent County District Court, who issued $5,000 surety bail with conditions including no unsupervised contact with minors and restricted internet access.

Morris King, 60, of Cranston, was arrested by the Rhode Island Violent Fugitive Task Force on a Sixth Division District Court bench warrant for failure to appear at a restitution review on an original felony assault charge from the Central Falls Police Department.

King was processed and transported to the Adult Correctional Institutions Intake Service Center.

The Violent Fugitive Task Force also arrested Anthony J. Mallozzi, 31, of Warwick, on eight Kent County Superior Court bench warrants including multiple domestic violence violations, breaking and entering charges, and possession of a controlled substance.

Mallozzi was processed and turned over to the Warwick Police Department.
