MONKTON — Vermont State Police responded to a two-car collision on Monkton Road near Pond Road at 5:59 p.m. on March 27.
Zackery Aubin, 21, of Monkton, allegedly fled the scene before troopers arrived.
Authorities later made contact with Aubin at Porter Medical Center, where he identified himself as the operator of a 2011 Subaru Outback involved in the crash.
The second vehicle, a 2019 Ford Escape, was driven by Megan Maloy, 29, of Ferrisburgh.
Both vehicles sustained heavy front-end damage, and both drivers suffered minor, non-life-threatening injuries.
Investigation revealed Aubin had been operating his vehicle in a grossly negligent manner before leaving the scene of the accident, according to police.
Aubin was issued a citation to appear in Addison County Superior Court, Criminal Division on May 19 at 12:30 p.m.
He faces charges of leaving the scene of an accident and grossly negligent operation.
Bristol Police Department, Bristol Rescue Squad, and Bristol Fire Department assisted at the scene.
Vermont Civil Violation Complaints are pending.
