CLAYTON — The New York State Police in Watertown are currently investigating a fatal single-vehicle crash that occurred on County Route 54 in the town of Clayton, Jefferson County.
On March 27, at approximately 4:46 p.m., a Toyota Tacoma exited the roadway for an unknown reason and struck a telephone pole.
The operator, identified as Marc Bryan Gross, age 45, of Evans Mills, was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Live electrical wires from the damaged pole were preventing immediate access to the vehicle.
National Grid responded to address the hazard.
No other vehicles were involved, and Mr. Gross was the sole occupant of the vehicle.
The investigation into the cause of the crash remains ongoing.
