CAMBRIDGE — Cambridge police arrested an Ashland resident on multiple drug charges following a traffic stop in Central Square on Wednesday.

Officers initially stopped the vehicle for several observed violations, according to the Cambridge Police Department.

During the stop, police developed probable cause to search both the driver and the vehicle.

The search uncovered evidence of street-level drug transactions, including a significant amount of cash, multiple baggies containing what is believed to be crack cocaine, a large quantity of marijuana, and various pills in separate baggies.

The driver was arrested and charged with possession with intent to distribute Class B substances (crack cocaine), Class D substances (marijuana), and Class E substances (pills).

The suspect also faces charges related to the vehicle violations that prompted the initial traffic stop.
