GREECE — A 23-year-old man was arrested following a burglary and foot pursuit in Greece after police responded to a home invasion report.
On March 27 at approximately 10:43 p.m., officers from the Greece Police Department responded to a report of an in-progress burglary on McGuire Road where a homeowner reported multiple suspects had forcibly entered the residence.
Upon arrival, officers observed a flashlight on the ground in the parking lot across from the home, prompting them to check the surrounding area.
Officers spotted two males fleeing on foot, initiated a pursuit and apprehended one suspect, identified as Michael Pagan-Rios of Avon.
Pagan-Rios was found with a backpack containing stolen property from the victim’s home.
A Monroe County Sheriff’s Office K-9 unit was deployed to track the remaining suspects, but their efforts were unsuccessful.
A neighborhood canvass conducted by police yielded additional evidence.
Pagan-Rios was charged with burglary in the second degree, a Class C felony, and grand larceny in the third degree, a Class D felony.
Following arraignment in Greece Town Court, he was remanded to the county jail on bail or bond of $15,000/$30,000/$100.
Greece Police Department detectives recovered surveillance footage of an additional suspect, which will be published to help identify him and a third suspect.
