WEST GREENWICH — Rhode Island State Police arrested a local man early Monday on drug possession charges following a traffic stop in West Greenwich.
Michael Burns, 34, of 637 Hazard Road, West Greenwich, was taken into custody at 12:39 a.m. after troopers conducted a motor vehicle stop on Route 102.
Burns was charged with possession of a Schedule I-V controlled substance (cocaine), 10 grams or less.
Following his arrest, Burns was transported to the Hope Valley Barracks for processing.
He was arraigned by a Justice of the Peace and subsequently released pending a future appearance in Third Division District Court.
