COVENTRY — A 16-year-old driver suffered minor injuries after losing control of her vehicle on icy roads Wednesday night.
Vermont State Police responded to a single-vehicle crash on U.S. Route 5 at approximately 9:57 p.m.
The teen was traveling south when she lost control of her 2010 Honda Civic.
Police determined she was driving too fast for the icy road conditions when her vehicle struck a rock embankment.
She was wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash and reported minor injuries but declined transportation to a hospital.
Newport Fire and Emergency Medical Services and the Orleans County Sheriff’s Department assisted at the scene.
