NEW HARTFORD — A 17-year-old male was arrested Thursday after allegedly making threats toward an upcoming New Hartford Central School District event.
School officials became aware of the threatening message on March 26 and immediately contacted the New Hartford Police Department, which launched an investigation with assistance from school administration.
The juvenile was arrested Thursday afternoon by a member of the New Hartford Police Criminal Investigation Division and charged with one count of making a terroristic threat, a class D felony.
Following arraignment in Oneida County Family Court, the teen is being held in custody due to several factors, according to police.
An order of protection was issued on behalf of the school district.
