PANTON — Vermont State Police arrested a 43-year-old Orwell man following a road rage incident that occurred on Route 22A near the Panton-Vergennes line.
Justin Moulton was charged with simple assault and negligent operation after allegedly assaulting 53-year-old Vernon Miller of Panton at approximately 6:40 a.m. on March 26.
According to police, Miller was assaulted by an unknown male who fled the scene in a White Ridge Construction truck.
Troopers identified Moulton as the suspect after receiving several tips from the public.
On March 27, state police located Moulton, placed him under arrest, and transported him to the Vergennes Police Department for processing.
Moulton was released with a citation to appear in Addison County Superior Court, Criminal Division at a later date.
The Addison County Sheriff’s Department and Vergennes Police Department assisted state troopers in the investigation.
