PANAMA — A routine parole check at a residence in Panama led to a significant narcotics seizure and one arrest, according to the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office.
Narcotics investigators from the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office and the Dunkirk Police Department were called to assist parole officers at 9 School St. after narcotics were discovered at the residence.
Authorities subsequently obtained a search warrant from the Town of Harmony Court.
The search yielded 30.5 grams of methamphetamine, 1.0 grams of fentanyl, along with scales and packaging materials consistent with drug distribution.
James Chase was arrested and charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 3rd, Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 4th, Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 7th and Criminally Using Drug Paraphernalia 2nd.
Chase was transported to the Chautauqua County Jail for the Centralized Arraignment Program.
