Parma traffic stops yield multiple weapons arrests

PARMA — Monroe County Sheriff’s deputies arrested two men on weapons charges following separate traffic stops in the Town of Parma last week.

On March 19 at 2:44 p.m., deputies stopped a 2007 Chevrolet Tahoe in the 1000 block of Hilton Parma Corners Road for improper registration and insurance.

During the investigation, deputies discovered the driver, Juston D. Hutchings, 38, of Hilton, was in possession of a 9mm ghost gun and two loaded high-capacity magazines.

Hutchings was charged with second-degree criminal possession of a weapon, two counts of third-degree criminal possession of a weapon, and endangering the welfare of a child.

He was arraigned in Parma Town Court and remanded to the Monroe County Jail on $7,500 cash bail or $15,000 bond.

Two days later, on March 21 at 5:14 p.m., deputies conducted another traffic stop at the intersection of Rt. 104 and Rt. 259 for vehicle and traffic law violations.

The driver, Joshua M. Cliff, 38, of Greece, was found to have a suspended New York State driver’s license and was in possession of a Taurus GC3 Semi-Auto 9mm pistol with the serial number removed.

Deputies also discovered a sawed-off shotgun, a disassembled Omega .25 caliber handgun, and narcotics inside the vehicle.

Cliff faces charges including second-degree criminal possession of a weapon, three counts of third-degree criminal possession of a weapon, and seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance.

He was also arraigned in Parma Town Court and remanded to the Monroe County Jail on $7,500 cash bail or $15,000 bond.
