KATONAH — Bedford Police Department responded to a 911 call reporting an interrupted burglary at 2:12 p.m. Tuesday in Katonah.
The resident reported coming home and observing an unknown male exiting her residence before he fled on foot.
Multiple Bedford PD units from patrol and detective divisions immediately responded to the location.
An extensive search of the surrounding area was conducted with assistance from the Westchester County Police Aviation Unit.
Officers conducted a neighborhood canvass to interview potential witnesses and obtain available video surveillance.
Katonah Elementary School was contacted and advised of the incident, implementing a lock-out order as a precautionary measure.
Police were present during school dismissal to ensure student safety.
Authorities stated the incident appears to be isolated with no imminent danger to the public.
