SWANTON — A St. Albans woman escaped injury after her car was forced off Interstate 89 in what she described as a hit-and-run incident early Thursday.
Vermont State Police responded to the crash at mile marker 119.4 on I-89 northbound at 12:09 a.m. March 27.
Troopers found a 2013 Volkswagen Jetta with front-end damage that had left the roadway and struck a guardrail.
The driver, Amanda Stuart, 46, of St. Albans, told police that a dark-colored SUV struck her vehicle, causing her to leave the roadway.
Stuart was wearing her seatbelt at the time of the crash and was not injured, according to police.
The crash remains under investigation, and state police are asking anyone with information to contact the St. Albans Barracks.
Thompson’s Towing, Missisquoi Valley Rescue and Swanton Fire Department assisted at the scene.
