LAKEWOOD — A Buffalo woman was charged with attempted grand larceny after allegedly trying to cash a stolen check at a Lakewood bank.
Jamie L. Smith, 34, was charged with one count of attempted grand larceny in the third degree at the Lakewood M&T Bank.
According to the Lakewood-Busti Police Department, Smith attempted to cash a stolen check in the amount of $9,700.
Authorities said the check was discovered to be stolen from Buffalo.
Due to bail reform laws, Smith was released with an appearance ticket to return to the Town of Busti Court at a later date.
Police said additional charges are pending.
