2 injured in Rockingham crash on Route 121

ROCKINGHAM — Two men were injured when their vehicles collided Tuesday afternoon on Route 121 near Davidson Hill Road.

Travis Allen, 37, of Athens, was traveling east on Route 121, also known as Saxtons River Road, when his 2013 Ford Escape crossed the center line around 2:35 p.m., according to Vermont State Police.

Allen’s vehicle struck a westbound 2012 Chevrolet Silverado driven by Shane Goldsmith, 37, of Bellows Falls.

Allen sustained serious injuries in the crash and was airlifted to Dartmouth Medical Center.

His condition is currently unknown.

Goldsmith suffered minor injuries and was transported to Springfield Hospital for evaluation.

Both vehicles were totaled in the collision, which occurred under clear, sunny skies with dry road conditions.

Vermont State Police, emergency medical services and fire personnel responded to the scene after receiving reports of a two-car crash with entrapment.

The crash remains under investigation.
