Somerville police investigate shots fired, business break-ins

SOMERVILLE — Somerville police are investigating multiple incidents including shots fired and commercial break-ins that occurred in the city this week.

Officers responded to Hathorn Street at 9:56 p.m. on March 23 for reports of shots fired.

Upon arrival, police located four shell casings on the street, but no victims were reported.

In a separate incident, police were called to a business on Highland Avenue at 3:10 a.m. on March 25 for a breaking and entering report.

Officers found the front window smashed with a brick, and it appeared various products and money had been stolen.

Later that same day, at 10:32 a.m., police responded to another business in Assembly Row for a report of a past breaking and entering.

The reporting party told officers that two individuals had broken in and stolen money from the register.

Police are also investigating several other crimes reported in the city, including three motor vehicle thefts, two car break-ins, one package theft, and two motor vehicle vandalisms.
