COLONIE — Two people died in a house fire that broke out early Wednesday morning on Tanglewood Road, according to Colonie Police Department officials.

Emergency responders were called to the scene at approximately 12:29 a.m. on March 26 where they found a single-family home engulfed in flames.

Despite efforts from multiple fire agencies, both occupants of the home were killed in the blaze.

Police identified the victims as Carroll L. Debrocky, 76, and her son, James M. Debrocky, 56.

A section of Tanglewood Road remains closed as investigators process the scene, though police expect it to reopen within hours.

Authorities said the street can be accessed from either end, with the exception of a small section affecting approximately 10 houses.

The investigation into the source and origin of the fire is ongoing.

Officials are asking anyone with information about the incident, particularly eyewitness accounts or video surveillance footage, to contact the Colonie Police Investigations Division at 518-783-2754.
