VERONA — A Town of Verona man was arrested following a dispute that led to charges of violating an order of protection, according to Oneida County Sheriff Robert Maciol.
Deputies responded to a dispute in progress on Oneida Street in the Town of Verona at approximately 10:15 p.m. on March 21.
Following an investigation, road patrol deputies determined that Chase E. Newman had violated an order of protection through physical contact.
Newman was arrested and charged with one count of first-degree criminal contempt, a Class E felony; one count of second-degree criminal contempt, a Class A misdemeanor; and one count of second-degree harassment, a violation.
Deputies transported Newman to the Kurt B. Wyman Law Enforcement Building for processing before transferring him to the County Jail pending arraignment.
