HILLSBORO — A routine drive home for Police Chief Parsons turned into a high-speed pursuit Thursday that ended with the arrest of an 18-year-old Keene man.

The chase began shortly after Parsons left a legislative signing at the State House related to bail reform.

While traveling on Route 9, Parsons observed a vehicle in the opposite lane traveling at speeds exceeding 100 mph.

Parsons initiated a pursuit that continued into Antrim before the suspect vehicle turned around and re-entered Hillsboro.

The pursuit ended when the vehicle crashed down an embankment, police said.

The driver, identified as Justice Lucken, 18, of Keene, fled on foot but was quickly apprehended by Lt. McSweeney.

The passenger was apprehended by Chief Parsons.

Lucken is being held at the Hillsborough County House of Corrections pending a court appearance.

He faces multiple charges including disobeying an officer, four counts of reckless conduct with a deadly weapon, resisting arrest, reckless operation, and operating without a valid license.

The Hillsboro Police Department was assisted by the Antrim Police Department, Deering Police Department, and Hillsboro Fire and Rescue.
