UTICA — A Town of Lee man has been arrested for having sexual contact with an underage female child, according to the Oneida County Sheriff’s Office.
The investigation began on March 21 when the Oneida County Child Advocacy Center was notified that an adult male had subjected a female child to sexual contact.
Utica Police Investigator Ryan Kelly, Sheriff’s Investigator Mark R. Chrysler and Rome Police Detective Alexis Perry, all assigned to the Child Advocacy Center, conducted the investigation.
Officials determined that 37-year-old Robert Didomenico had allegedly subjected the child to sexual contact earlier in the week.
A search warrant for Didomenico’s Town of Lee residence was executed with assistance from the Sheriff’s Office Forensic Identification Unit and Road Patrol, yielding evidence that corroborated the allegations.
On March 24, Investigators Kelly and Chrysler located Didomenico in the City of Utica and arrested him on one count of Rape in the 3rd Degree, a Class E Felony, and one count of Endangering the Welfare of a Child, a Class A Misdemeanor.
Didomenico was processed at the Sheriff’s Office and transported to the Sheriff’s Correctional Facility where he was arraigned at CAP Court and held on $30,000 cash bail.
An Order of Protection was issued on behalf of the child, and services have been offered to the victim by the Child Advocacy Center.
