CORTLAND — New York State Police at Homer responded to a crash on Interstate 81 in Cortland near exit 53 (old exit 11) just after 8 p.m. Monday.
A preliminary investigation revealed that a Dodge Ram pickup was traveling south on Interstate 81 when, around mile marker 52.8, the operator veered off the roadway into the highway median and struck an earth embankment just above State Route 13 near Clinton Avenue.
The only occupant, a 51-year-old male from Marathon, was transported to Upstate Medical University with what appear to be non-life-threatening injuries.
Troopers were assisted by the City of Cortland, TLC Ambulance and City of Cortland Fire Department.
