ELLENVILLE — Three defendants have pleaded guilty and been sentenced for their roles in a violent home invasion and shooting that occurred at Canal Lock apartments in Ellenville on March 8, 2024.
The announcement came from Village of Ellenville Police Chief Phillip S. Mattracion in conjunction with the Ulster County District Attorney’s office.
All three defendants admitted to their roles in the armed home invasion that led to the shooting of victim Michael Harrington, also known as “U.”
The defendants appeared separately before Ulster County Supreme Court Judge Bryan Rounds, with the final defendant appearing Tuesday afternoon.
Each pleaded guilty to the top count of indictments handed down by an Ulster County Grand Jury last summer.
Nathaniel Negron, also known as “Nate,” of Ellenville, admitted to being the shooter and was sentenced to 10 years in prison and five years of post-release supervision.
Shaquon McGinnis, known as “Shaq” or “Static,” of Kingston, admitted he was armed with a knife during the crime and received eight years in prison and five years of post-release supervision.
Luis Gonzales Lopez of Ellenville, who was unarmed but admitted to his role in the offense, was sentenced to six years in prison and five years of post-release supervision.
All three defendants waived their right to appeal and were served with a full stay-away order of protection for the victim.
