YARMOUTH — After an in-depth investigation into the fire that destroyed Anthony’s Cummaquid Inn in Yarmouth Port last fall, Yarmouth Police detectives arrested two suspects in connection with the incident.

Isabella Medeiros, 18, of West Yarmouth and Jacob Ladner, 22, of Forestdale, were taken into custody after warrants for their arrests were issued Monday afternoon.

Since November, Yarmouth Police detectives have been working alongside a Massachusetts State Police Trooper assigned to the State Fire Marshal’s Office investigating what led to the total destruction of the historic structure.

Through various tips and numerous search warrants throughout the course of the investigation, detectives narrowed down their search to two suspects.

Search warrants of their phones provided the evidence they needed to make the arrests.

Medeiros and Ladner were charged with burning of a building (non-dwelling), breaking and entering in the daytime for a felony, wanton destruction of property over $1,200, and trespassing.

Both were held on $20,000 bail each and expected to be arraigned in Barnstable District Court on Tuesday.
