MONTPELIER — Officers responded to a report of a bloodied man who claimed he was threatened with a firearm at an apartment on Hebert Road, according to the Montpelier Police Department.

The incident began when police were called at approximately 5:06 a.m. on March 23 after the victim reported fleeing through a window from 21 Hebert Road.

The man told officers multiple individuals had threatened him with a firearm, causing him to escape and sustain injuries in the process.

Police later monitored the residence and worked with Berlin Police Department, who conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle seen visiting the apartment.

Occupants of the vehicle admitted to purchasing drugs from the apartment, and the driver was taken into custody on suspicion of DUI-Drugs.

Based on evidence suggesting illegal drug activity, reckless endangerment, and alleged aggravated assault, officers obtained a search warrant from a Vermont Superior Court Judge.

The Central Vermont Emergency Response Unit executed the warrant with assistance from Montpelier Police, Capitol Police, Berlin Police, and Northfield Police.

Four youths from Massachusetts were taken into custody, including two 15-year-olds, one 17-year-old, and one 18-year-old.

A firearm was seized during the search of the residence.

Police say the investigation remains ongoing.
