CLINTON — A man was injured in an attempted robbery outside his home Friday when an unknown assailant attacked him with a knife, police said.
The incident occurred around 5:30 p.m. in the 1500 block of River Road when the homeowner was confronted in his driveway by a male suspect who approached on a bicycle.
During the attempted robbery, the suspect produced a knife and inflicted multiple lacerations on the victim, according to the Clinton Police Department.
A neighbor who heard the disturbance came to assist, causing the suspect to flee on foot before getting into a vehicle and leaving the area.
Clinton Fire Rescue treated the victim at the scene before transporting him to a local hospital, where he is expected to make a full recovery.
Police officers canvassed the area following the incident and are actively pursuing leads in the case.
Authorities are not releasing additional information at this time due to the ongoing investigation.
