ORANGE — Police arrested four juveniles following a large fight that erupted at Urban Air Adventure Park Saturday night, requiring officers to use pepper spray to control the crowd.

Orange Police Department responded to the Bull Hill Lane business at approximately 8:09 p.m. after receiving reports of fighting inside the establishment.

Arriving officers encountered numerous unruly individuals, mostly juveniles, who were “screaming, running around and actively fighting,” according to a police statement.

The entire police shift responded, with additional assistance requested from neighboring West Haven Police Department.

One Orange police officer deployed pepper spray into the air after giving a warning when a crowd prevented the officer from reaching those involved in the altercation.

Four juveniles were arrested in connection with the incident, including two 14-year-olds from Bridgeport and two from New Haven, ages 14 and 15.

The juveniles were issued summonses with juvenile court appearance dates and released to their parents.

Additional disturbances occurred outside the business and in neighboring parking lots after the facility was evacuated.

Police reported hundreds of patrons were in the business during the disturbances, with many juveniles allegedly unsupervised.

No serious injuries were reported during the incident.

According to police, Urban Air has been the site of numerous calls for service in recent months, many involving fights and disputes.

Authorities said the exact cause of the initial fight remains unknown but may have stemmed from “aggressive behavior in the dodge ball pit.”
