HOLDEN — For the second time in just over three months, the Holden Police Department has arrested David MacKenzie, 53, of Holden.
MacKenzie was arrested Saturday night after police observed him violating the terms of his house arrest by having contact with a witness in his criminal case.
Lt. Whitehouse observed MacKenzie and the witness pull into MacKenzie’s residence around 9:30 p.m. on March 22.
After MacKenzie refused to exit the residence despite multiple attempts to contact him, police obtained a search warrant.
The Penobscot County Sheriff’s Office secured the perimeter while officers from Holden Police Department, Brewer Police, and the Maine State Police entered the residence.
MacKenzie was arrested without incident, and the witness was found hiding in the residence.
MacKenzie was transported to the Penobscot County Jail where he is being held without bail.
This arrest follows a previous incident where MacKenzie violated post-conviction bail conditions related to charges of aggravated assault, OUI, and leaving the scene of a crash involving an 86-year-old man in Brewer.
After his previous violation, MacKenzie had been placed under house arrest and ordered not to have contact with a witness in his criminal case.
