BRATTLEBORO — A local woman faces her third DUI charge after nearly striking emergency personnel responding to crashes on Interstate 91 Monday afternoon.
Vermont State Police said Allyson B. Gill, 57, of Brattleboro, swerved to avoid hitting responders and emergency vehicles at approximately 12:17 p.m., causing her vehicle to strike a guardrail near Exit 2.
State troopers, Brattleboro Police, and Brattleboro Fire Department were working at the scene of multiple separate crashes when the incident occurred.
During the investigation, authorities determined Gill was operating the vehicle and arrested her on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol.
This marks Gill’s third DUI offense, according to police.
Gill was released with a criminal citation and is scheduled to appear in Vermont Superior Court, Windham Criminal Division, on May 13 at 8:30 a.m.
