WEBSTER — A local woman with 13 outstanding warrants was arrested Thursday after police found her hiding in an attic to avoid capture.
Alisha Watson, 33, of Mohawk Ave, was taken into custody around 12:59 p.m. when Webster Police Officers and Detectives, along with Massachusetts State Police Violent Fugitive Apprehension Section (VFAS), searched her residence.
Authorities said Watson initially hid in the attic but eventually came down on her own and was arrested without incident.
Watson was wanted by numerous police departments throughout central Massachusetts and had been a suspect in a recent credit card fraud incident at the Mobil Gas Station on Gore Road.
Police reported that Watson had previously fled from several recent calls for service to avoid capture.
The 13 warrants against Watson included charges from multiple courts, including assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, intimidation of a witness, shoplifting, possession of cocaine, and misuse of stolen credit cards.
Watson was held at the Webster Police Station before being transported to Dudley District Court.
