Two arrested in Woonsocket on multiple warrants during traffic stop

WOONSOCKET — Rhode Island State Police arrested two individuals during a traffic stop on East School Street in Woonsocket at 1:45 p.m. Thursday.

Jamie Samayoa, 39, of Woonsocket, was arrested for possession of crack cocaine and on a felony shoplifting warrant from the Woonsocket Police Department.

Daniel Medina, 44, of Cumberland, was arrested on multiple bench warrants including failure to appear for a pre-trial conference, failure to appear for restitution review, and technical violations stemming from charges of duty to stop in accidents resulting in personal injury.

Medina also faced warrants for obstructing a police officer from Smithfield Police and shoplifting from Lincoln Police.

Samayoa was processed at Rhode Island State Police Headquarters, arraigned by a Justice of the Peace, and transferred to Woonsocket Police Department.

Medina was processed at State Police Headquarters and turned over to Smithfield Police Department.
