STILLWATER — The Saratoga County Sheriff’s Office arrested a Beacon man on multiple felony charges after he allegedly broke into an occupied residence following a car crash early Saturday morning.

Shawn N. Davis, 31, was taken into custody after deputies responded to a disturbance call on Hudson Avenue in Stillwater at 5:22 a.m. on March 23.

According to authorities, Davis was in possession of a motor vehicle that had been reported stolen from Washington County.

Investigators say Davis crashed the stolen vehicle on Hudson Avenue before forcing his way into an occupied residence by breaking a glass window in a door.

The occupants of the home were able to exit safely, officials reported.

Deputies later discovered Davis was allegedly in possession of 2 grams of cocaine.

The Sheriff’s Special Operations Team and Crisis Negotiation Unit responded to the scene.

Davis faces multiple felony charges including burglary in the 2nd degree, criminal possession of stolen property in the 3rd degree, criminal possession of a controlled substance in the 5th degree, and criminal mischief in the 3rd degree.

Following his arrest, Davis was arraigned before Judge Timothy M. Brown in Milton Town Court and remanded to the Saratoga County Jail pending further proceedings in Stillwater Town Court.
