PROVIDENCE — Rhode Island State Police arrested a 41-year-old East Providence man on a bench warrant following a traffic stop Tuesday afternoon.
Fernando Ferreira, of 28 Ellis Street, was arrested at 12:30 p.m. on Branch Avenue in Providence for an active Second District Court Bench Warrant for Failure to Appear for Arraignment.
The original charge was Driving with a Suspended License, which originated from the Middletown Police Department.
Troopers transported Ferreira to the Lincoln Woods Barracks for processing before taking him to the Adult Correctional Institution-Men’s Intake Center.
In a separate incident at 3:30 p.m., troopers arrested Kerrie Oliveira, 37, of 76 Irving Avenue, East Providence, during a traffic stop on Vandewater Street in Providence.
Oliveira was wanted on a Providence Superior Court Bench Warrant for Failure for Sentencing on a Technical Violation related to a Possession of a Controlled Substance charge from the East Providence Police Department.
She also had an active Affidavit and Arrest Warrant for Contributing to the Delinquency of a Minor, also originating from the East Providence Police Department.
After processing at Lincoln Woods Barracks, Oliveira was transferred to the Adult Correctional Institution – Women’s Intake Center.
