TROY, NY — Troy Police Department detectives arrested a Cohoes man Monday after observing him with a firearm in the city’s Lansingburgh neighborhood.
Special Operations Section detectives spotted Destin I. Fox-Schreiber, 20, with a firearm as he entered a vehicle near 101st Street and 5th Avenue around 2 p.m. on March 17.
With assistance from the patrol division, officers stopped the vehicle and discovered Fox-Schreiber was in possession of a firearm with a large capacity magazine.
Fox-Schreiber was charged with criminal possession of a weapon in the third degree and obstructing governmental administration in the second degree.
The arrest is part of the Troy Police Department’s ongoing efforts to reduce illegal firearms in the city, according to police officials.
