PORTLAND — Portland Police were called to the area of 252 St. John Street for a report of a shot fired at 4:54 p.m. on Friday, March 21.
A witness stated a male drove by him on a moped and fired a shot in his direction.
Roughly an hour later, the suspect was located at 171 Washburn Avenue.
The department’s Crisis Negotiators were called in, along with the Special Reaction Team to address the incident.
For precaution and safety concerns, parts of St. John Street and Washburn Street were closed for several hours as the incident unfolded.
At 7:04 p.m., the suspect emerged and was taken into custody with the assistance of the Special Reaction Team and the Crisis Negotiations Team.
Twenty-three-year-old Dominick Morrison of Portland was arrested and transported to the Cumberland County Jail.
He was charged with Reckless Conduct with a Dangerous Weapon and Criminal Threatening.
A search warrant was written by the Criminal Investigation Division and was conducted on Mr. Morrison’s home, where suspected evidence of the shooting was recovered.
