Lancaster police report 5 stolen vehicles, no home invasions

1 min read

LANCASTER — The Lancaster Police Department has confirmed five reports of stolen vehicles in the community this year, contradicting social media claims about home invasions.

According to police officials, three of the stolen vehicles had keys left inside them, while two were taken without keys.

Three vehicles were stolen from open garages, with the remaining two taken from driveways or parking spots.

The department emphasized they have not received any reports of home invasions, despite rumors circulating on Facebook.

Police have not found evidence suggesting the thefts were committed by the same person or group.

Lancaster police are encouraging residents to lock their vehicle doors and keep garage doors closed as preventative measures.

Residents are urged to report any suspicious activity by calling the Lancaster Police Department at (716)683-2800.
